Want to be treated like garbage? Villa Shafaly is the place for you! We had booked a place managed by this hotel. They called us to inform us that the place we had booked was unavailable. But they offered us a "more expensive" place managed by them. I said "OK, but I'd like to see the place first." Upon arrival, the receptionist asked us, with a condescending look, whether we had arrived by car. We had come by train from Prague, had walked out of our way (with our luggage, in the rain) to reach Villa Shafaly, and were exhausted. The receptionist proceeded to LIE TO OUR FACES and tell us that the new place they'd offered us was "suddenly unavailable". His "excuse" was that in the forty minutes between our call and our arrival, he had received another booking for the second night of our stay and that at the "expensive place" single night bookings were impossible. A total fabrication!!! The sudden booking, the one night status... There was only ONE REASON he refused us. Because of the way we looked! I would strongly suggest that the management FIRE THIS RECEPTIONIST and more carefully consider their policy as regards the management and treatment of guests... Namely teaching them not to blatantly lie to their guests and that the customer is always king.
Not a thing.
EXCEPTIONALLY POOR SERVICE! (See "In General" for details).
